On November 12th, at the Hoyt Arboretum shelter, the Opal School Community will celebrate it's annual lantern walk. The lantern walk is a celebration of the warmth and light that exists within our community as we head into darkening winter days. Each child will carry a mason jar lantern that s/he will create at school. We'll learn songs to sing together as we walk through a short loop not far from the shelter. The Opal 1 students will share a story that they've created for the occasion.
It is a beautiful opportunity to create a bit of magic as we walk and sing together through the trees, our lanterns shining in the night. Working with one another to focus on the songs and the light, we create an image for ourselves and our children to hold dear through the cold winter nights to come.
We hope you'll join us for this special event and help us create this image of beauty for our community!
