Opal School Online marks a new effort to fulfill Opal School's mission to strengthen public education by provoking fresh ideas concerning environments where creativity, imagination, and the wonder of learning thrive. Although we reach many educators through our workshops, symposia, and visitation days, we've heard from others who either can't travel to Portland or want options to continue their inquiry between visits. We wondered whether we might be able to meet those needs through an online resource.
At this point in the process, we're pleased with the results. We have almost 200 subscribers from around the globe, and their enthusiasm has been effusive. Typical of participants' feedback, Laurie called it "amazing, deep work;" Allie called it "beautiful;" and Jennifer found "pure poetry." We've been able to have rich discussions in the comments sections and in the online forum, paralleling the fantastic conversations we're used to having during the workshops. We even attracted the interest of Portland's daily newspaper.
We'd love to have you join the Opal School Online community.
